The project was requested by a farm of 10 hectares of greenhouses, which needed the water for irrigation and drinking water for the workers. Due to the water scarcity in the desert areas of Saudi Arabia, WaterMatic was asked to propose an energy-efficient and easy-to-use seawater desalination treatment plant to be placed 1.5 kilometers from the seashore.
WaterMatic designed and installed a seawater reverse osmosis system in containers to provide a plug-and-play solution.
The treatment process implemented in the system to achieve the required water quality includes sand filtration, seawater reverse osmosis system including an energy recovery device, pH adjustment, remineralization and disinfection.
