Grace Denbigh, Jamaica Agro-Processing Wastewater Treatment Plant

Containerized Wastewater Treatment Plant
150 cubic meters per day

Grace, one of the largest manufacturers and processors of food items in Jamaica, has an issue at its processing plant in Denbigh, Jamaica. The Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), nitrogen and Phosphate all exceeded the local environmental regulatory authority standards.

WaterMatic designed a pre-treatment, biological and tertiary wastewater treatment plant, with a capacity to handle 150 cubic meters per day, to reduce all the BOD, TSS and nitrogen levels to that of the standards set by local authorities.

WaterMatic provided a fully automatic containerized system to include the pre-treatment (electro-mechanical screen), equalization tank with mixer and feeding pumps, Containerized Biological reactor (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor or MBBR- Biological Nutrient Removal or BNR technology) with biomass carriers, diffusers, pumps, clarifier with tube settlers and tertiary treatment (sand filtration and post chlorination).
